Dyso

Dyso

What is constant and what is changing? Who writes the rules? Dyso’s “Choice” plays with game forms in a new way. Rather than beginning with a static board and two players facing one another, the pieces themselves swirl around with their own rules, setting up a different kind of ‘game.’ They are in charge, much like dolls that come alive at night. Delicate and intricate, the pieces dance and swirl in their own universe.

As it is whimsical,“Choice” is also serious. What are the relationships between these forces and what holds all the elements together? Is everyone a victim of chance? Is the dance of relationships perpetual with an elusive logic? Are those in power, setting the stage via the chess boards, rigid though changing position? Are the small pieces powerless in this swirl? How many games are going on at once? “Choice” offers more questions than choices!
